Workshops

Dr. Abdulaziz Sager, Chairman of the Gulf Research Center and Dr. Christian Koch, Director of the GRC Foundation, participated in the workshop on “The Emerging Global Role of the Arab Gulf States” organized by the Dubai Public Policy Research Centre (B’huth) in London. Dr. Koch also spoke in the second panel of the meeting on the “Rise of Asia and Russia’s Return.”

On March 14th, 2017, GRC Chairman Dr. Abdulaziz Sager participated in a workshop hosted by the Global Future College, entitled “Opportunities, political and security challenges facing Saudi Arabia in the near to mid future: a troubled region and a changing world.” The workshop brought together participants from the US, UK, Saudi Arabia and France on an invitation-only basis, and the discussions throughout the workshop were on an informal basis.

Dr. Abdulaziz Sager, Chairman of the GRC, and Dr. Mustafa Alani, Senior Advisor and Program Director for Defense and Security Studies participated in the 163rd Bergedorf Round Table of the German Körber Foundation on the topic of “A ‘Westphalia’ for the Middle East?. The event held in Berlin was attended by 30 high-ranking politicians, senior members of administration as well as experts and historians from the Middle East, Europe, and the United States. Discussions were opened by Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Dr. Abdulaziz Sager visited Singapore on October 30, 2012. During the visit, he participated in a series of activities that took place at the National University of Singapore, including a meeting with Singapore Management University students in which he gave a talk on “Lessons in Life” and MEI-SMU Workshop titled: wars & sanctions in the Middle East: what’s in it for Asia?

Dr. Abdulaziz Sager participated at the one day workshop in Istanbul on the 10th of April entitled “Iraq’s Emerging Foreign Policy in Regional and International Context.” organised by the Carnegie Middle East Center in collaboration with the Turkish Think Tank, TESEV.
